Marvel successfully introduces Doctor Strange, A-

With mind numbing special effects, Doctor Strange is an excellent heroes origin story that successfully introduces a new player into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Leave it to Marvel. Just when you might be getting tired of super heroes origin stories, they come out with a film like Doctor Strange. The film is fantastic with a thought provoking story that's highlight entertaining. Block busters don't get more enjoyable then this. Above all else though, the special effects and CGI in strange are simply incredible and are extremely well down throughout the film.

With the new introductions of Luke Cage and Ghost Rider, Marvel has been no stranger to adding new supes to their ever growing list. However, lately they've done it extremely well, with great story lines behind Cage and Ghost Rider. Now onto the big screen, Strange is no exception. The film has everything going for it, helped by a great roll from Bennedict Cumberbatch who fits perfectly as the new magician super hero.

The directing of the film is top notch, with nearly each scene being a memorable and awe popping to look at it, especially in IMAX 3D. Although you don't necessarily have to see it in IMAX, the visual effects are amped up to the next level, and the sound and screen is an awesome presence.
The casting with Doctor Strange is great, especially with Tilda Swinton (Minority Report) as the Ancient One. Fans of Rachel Mcadams will be delighted in seeing in a Marvel film.

However, the highlight of the film are the visuals and special effects. Marvel really took things to the next level here, and the result is something that looks beautiful and at the same time extremely weird.
For those that are comparing Strange to the Matrix or Inception, think again. The film has themes of it's own, and it's unlike anything you've ever seen before in terms of weirdness. The film acts like an acid trip, especially when the action really picks up the pace. The Hong Kong scene near the end is exceptionally weird and beautiful to look at.

Doctor Strange isn't a perfect Marvel film. Although it does stay true to it's source material in wonderful ways, the plot suffers a bit when Strange is learning about his powers. It would have been nice to hear more about the magic and how he learned these skills, as that part was heavily skipped over in this film.
Aside from that, Marvel has successfully introduced Strange onto the board with a great casting job with Cumberbatch as the title character. We look forward to seeing Strange with the Avengers, and his next solo film as well.
