Infamous Stringdusters prove bluegrass is alive in Denver, A+

This past Saturday night, one of the great bluegrass groups of the modern era, The Infamous Stringdusters performed an incredible near sold out show at Denver's own Mission Ballroom. 

It was a great way to kick off the new year by proving that bluegrass is still very much alive and well. "We originally came from Nashville, which was the leading bluegrass music scene for a while, now but it's changed to Colorado and Denver," the group explained during their second set of the evening. The concert was well worth going to Saturday night.

The Stringdusters performed an incredible near four hours, ending the show around midnight. It was a rather early concert as well as several opening bands took the stage-including bluegrass musician Lindsey Lou, who is a legend in her own right.

One of the highlights of the evening was when Lindsey rejoined the string dusters during their first set to perform a cover of Aretha Franklin's Respect.

The Stringdusters were simply on fire all night, from the moment they took the stage to when they left. They showed no sign of slowing down, performing their hit songs like Colorado. Everyone in the band was great that evening and each bluegrass member shared the stage incredibly well. 'We've played lots of shows and were far from over," the group cheerfully said close to the end of their set. 

The Mission Ballroom proved to be a great venue to catch the Incredible Stringdusters. The crowd was dancing and jumping all night, even some in the bleachers were surprisingly a bit rowdy. Of course, this is Denver on a Saturday night, and the Infamous Stringdusters are indeed a great band to dance and listen to live.

While originally from Nashville, 3 out of the 5 members of the band are now from Colorado, so they consider themselves a Colorado band. When a hometown band perform their own shows at a great venue and on a weekend, your no doubt in for a great time. 

The Stringdusters will of course be playing Colorado again for Steamboat Spring's Winter Wondergrass festival and annually in Telluride for the Bluegrass Festival.
