Although it's faithful to the original, some cringe worthy moments make it far from being perfect.
It seems Avatar fans have been waiting months, or even more than a year, for the live action version of Avatar: The Last Airbender to be finally released. Now we have all eight episodes to enjoy at once on Netflix. The final result is what it is: the show is just okay.
It's no doubt difficult to transform legendary animi shows into live action, as Netflix have found out only recently with Cowboy Beebop and One Piece. While the first was horrible in every way, One Piece soared as a truly great adaptation. Now, Netflix is trying again with one of the most beloved animi shows out there: Avatar: The Last Airbender.
The good thing is that it' smiles ahead of the live action film that was released. The characters are great, and the CGI is nothing short of incredible, especially with Mojo and Appa. How they do all the bending is exactly how you'd imagine it to happen in live action.
The highlight is that the show stays very true to the original and adds some minor changes.
However, there are several bad elements that just doesn't make this show as good as it can be. The pacing is off in each episode, and the acting by everyone involved is terrible.
While most fans of the original and new fans will be satisfied, some diehard fans might not be.
This new adaptation of Avatar isn't perfect by any means, but still entertaining to watch.
