Daredevil is still good in S2, but no one can replace Fisk, B+

Sure, there's everything you want from the first season of Daredevil in these new episodes. There's plenty of gore and action that will keep fans happy. However one thing severely lacks the show's new season, and that's the empty hole filled by Wilson Fisk.
When the first season of Daredevil came out, it introduced a whole new world onto the small screen when Netflix first connected with Marvel. Now, with several other shows being released and more in development, Daredevil might seemed overshadowed, but is far from being irrelevant. The second season of Daredevil is filled with the show's signature action sequences and violence, and also introduces a string of powerful new characters.

Despite the boldness of the new season, there's surprisingly some negatives that were never there when the show was first introduced.

Daredevil's second season unfortunately changes the show's pace regarding villains. Although Walking Dead's Jon Bernthal does a fantastic acting performance as Punisher, it's as if the show wanted to rush things too much into his characters and scenes in the season.
The void left from Wilson Fisk, and Vincent D'Onofrio who brilliantly played him is obvious in the second season. Punisher is by far a worth while villain and his story line stays true to the comics in the second season of Daredevil. Still, it's as if the show ventured off from character developments it had in the first season and rushed into things way too quickly with an abundance of characters.

The highlight of Daredevil's second season is the acting by everyone involved, especially by Charlie Cox as Daredevil/Matt Murdock. He really digs into the character this season, and his acting especially shines when his character is struggling with the differences between religion and superheroism. The constant emotional struggle between him and best friend Foggy Nelson is also a highlight of the new season. It's a continuous story arc of the show that greatly pays off.

Above all, the action and fight scenes of Daredevil are top notch and continue in Season 2. The battles between Daredevil and Punishes are exceptionally well done.

The second season of Daredevil relies heavily on gun and introduces some great characters to the show, including Electra. Even though it has some ups and down, it's ultimately still great television, and a great iconic example of the new age of super heroes that's not meant for everyone.
