The Marvel Universe, ranked

With the death of Stan Lee today, we here at Wildfire Reviews take a step back and look at what are the best film and television series in the Marvel CU from Iron Man to The Runaways.

Film Universe
Phase One

Iron Man, May 2, 2008
A+
A terrific performance by Robert Downey JR gives Iron Man a new face and a bold new look as the official kick off to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The Incredible Hulk-June 13, 2008
B+
Although an outcast today, this beauty aged surprisingly well compared with other super hero films of it's time.
Iron Man 2-May 7, 2010
B-
The second edition in the Iron man films was just sub par to the first, although it wasn't exactly terrible either.
Thor, May 6, 2011
B+
Chris Hemsworth brought the star power and a new hero who's movies and roles have only increased in greatness over time. The first Thor movie had wit and great special effects, but it could have used more story line and structure.
Captain America: The First Avenger, July 22, 2011
A-
A bold performance by Chris Evans took Captain America to a new level and a stand a lone film that had an awesome villain, a great story line and awesome fighting scenes.
Avengers: May 4, 2012
A
The First movie of it's kind when it was released, Avengers worked extremely well bringing together the team that it assembled, filled with humor, a great story, a wonderful villian and classic battle scenes in New York.
Phase 2

Iron Man 3, May 3, 2013
C+
Unfortunately, even Robert Downey JR couldn't save his own films from being better over the ages. A poor villain and bad sub plots lead the final Iron Man film to be worse than Spider Man 3.
Thor: The Dark World, November 8, 2013
C
Another dead end in the Marvel Universe saw an uninteresting Thor film, even if it had all the original cast returning from the first.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier, April 4, 2014
A+
The best movie in the Marvel Universe so far took super hero films to a whole new level with stunning performances, intriguing story lines, and one of the best villians the film franchise has seen since Loki.
Guardians of the Galaxy, August 1, 2014
A+
2014 came to be a great year for the Marvel Universe with an introduction to another great super hero team in a film that took things again, to a whole new level.
Avengers-Age of Ultron. May 1, 2015
C+
Unfortunately, the second Avengers film wasn't as great as the first by any means. Too many sub plots lead to the story just being relatively good, even with the addition of Scarlett Witch.
Ant-Man, July 17, 2015
A-
When there was news of an Ant Man being made, many thought why was it necessary, but the film proved to be funny, with great acting, fight scenes and even a good villain.
 Phase Three

Captain America: Civil War May 6, 2016
A
Leading Phase Three off to a kick ass start, Civil War was much better than the last Avengers film and even had more Avengers in it. A complex story line made it out to be one hundred times better than Batman Vs Superman, which came out around the same time.
Doctor Strange, November 4, 2016
A+
Another strong addition to phase three saw perhaps the best super film ever made in Doctor Strange with a great performance by Bennedict Cubumber.
Guardians of the Galaxy: Volume 2, May 5, 2017
B+
Even though it wasn't as great as the film film, the second edition to the trilogy was still funny.
Spider-Man: Homecoming, July 7, 2017
A+
With SMH Marvel has truly picked up their game and have released a Spider-Man film that everyone could be proud of watching.
Thor: Ragnarok, November 3, 2017
A+
A whole new cast besides Thor and Loki saw the Thor franchise booming back to a wonderful start with a great story line even though there wasn't necessarily a main villain.
Black Panther, February 16, 2018
A
Although not as great as the last few films, Black Panther was still pretty kick ass and awesome, and a great addition to the marvel verse.
Avengers: Infinity War: April 27, 2018
B+
Too long and too many story lines lead Infinity War to being truly great, but it was still a great super hero film that took things in a whole new direction.
Ant-Man and the Wasp, July 6, 2018
B+
it wasn't as great as the first film, but the second Ant-Man had great performances and humor and would lead to it's fans being satisfied in the end.

 TV Universe
Agents of Shield, ABC, 2014-Present

A+
The first, and the best Marvel show was off to a some what rocky start in it's first season. However, this show only inproved in time, and now we can only look forward to what happens next with each season of Agents of Shield.
Marvel's Agent Carter, ABC, 2015-2016
A-
Lead by a stellar performance, Marvel's Agent Carter should have been continued but was cancelled due to number of views.
Marvel's Inhumans, 2017
Unmarked: Not Watched

Netflix Series

Daredevil

2015-Present
A+
Marvel's Daredevil took things to a whole new level and introduced us to the greatest villain performance of the Marvel verse, Kingpin.
Jessica Jones
2015-Present
A+
Bold and daring, Marvel's Jessica Jones was another step forward to Marvel and again introduced a bad ass villain.
Luke Cage
2016-2018
A
A great performance and interesting story line introduced us to Harlem's new super hero.
Iron Fist
2017-2018
B-
It could have been much better, but Iron First wasn't the worse thing that Marvel released in it's universe by any means.
Defenders
2017 Mini Series
B
It could have been longer and had better villians, but the Defenders saw things finally taking place for it's Marvel Netflix super hero team of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage & Iron Fist.
The Punisher
2017-Present
B-
It could be better, but the Punisher is helped by it's lead performance by Walking Dead actor Jon Bernthal as the Punisher.

Non Marvel Shows:

The Runaways
2017-Present
A
The Runaways is a great show on Hulu Plus with great characters, stories and villains that shows us that Netflix isn't the only place Marvel can be.
