Dune: Part 2 is a sci fi masterpiece, A+

Dennis Verville's Dune Part 2 is truly an epic film, both in run time (3 hours including previews), and everything else. It's one of the best science fiction films of all time, and no matter what, should be seen on the biggest screen possible.

Everything about the new Dune is incredible. It was once said that the greatest science fiction novel of all time by Frank Herbert could never be truly adaptable on the big screen, but Dennis sure squashed these comments. The visuals are nothing short of amazing and even improve on the first film. While there's some changes from the books, these changes were brought on by good faith, and would have been difficult to process on film.

For the most part, Dennis stays absolutely true to the novel. His vision of how he adapts the content and the characters from book onto the big screen is nothing short of incredible. Especially how he incorporates the mythology and suspicions of the 'one prophet of Mahdi' is superb, and exactly how fans should imagine it from the book. The legendary Freeman of Dune are wonderfully adapted from the novel onto the big screen. How Dennis incorporates the villains and House Harkonnen is great too, especially Harkonnen's home world.
All the characters from the book are excellently transformed onto the big screen by all the actors involved. These performances are highlighted by Javier Bardem's Stilgar, Zendaya's Chani and of course, Timothee Chalamet's as Paul Mahdi. Denni's Dune Part 2 beautifully intertwines these characters on the big screen. Were reminded of how much Dune is a love story between the main characters, and of how Chani is Paul's desert flower. Both Timothee and Zendaya truly shine in this film and are perfectly cast for their parts.

Seeing this film in IMAX is truly an incredible experience. Seeing the true glory of the sand worms on the big screen is beyond breath taking, but perhaps the most impressive thing about seeing it in IMAX is the sound. The sound is Earth shattering when you witness it, and the music throughout the movie is pretty superb as well. Even if you can't see it in Imax, this is the reason to go to the theaters instead of waiting at home to stream it. If you haven't been to the movie theaters in a long time, this is the movie to see.

There is nothing wrong this film, and it should be no doubt a powerful contender for next year's Oscar as best picture. It should be included in several other categories as well, including best actor and actress. Of course, Dennis deserves an Oscar win for how truly great this movie is. He did a wonderful job, and really, fans of the first film will be awed by how powerful the second one is.

Like the first movie, the second film demands a sequel. Hopefully, we will get to see Dune as a trilogy and witness the final saga of Paul Atreides in Dune, Part 3 on the big screen.
