AJ Lee & Blue Summit close out tour with a sold out show at Denver's Globe Hall, A

(Above: AJ Lee performs with her band Blue Summit at Globe Hall in Denver, CO on Friday, Feb 20, 2026)

AJ Lee performed with her own band, Blue Summit with openers Foggy Mountain Spaceship this past Friday night in Denver, CO at the iconic Globe Hall. The concert was sold out and the small 250 seat venue was packed, but the band performed exceptionally well lead by AJ's charm and incredible mandolin playing.

It was a cold Denver night on Friday but that didn't stop the small barbeque and bar, Globe Hall, to sell out AJ Lee & Blue Summit's show. The crowd was older fans, as both bluegrass and blues music tend to draw out older folks in general, but there were some younger couples and groups scattered in.

Many groups have performed at the Globe Hall, and this was our first time reviewing and seeing AJ Lee perform there. The set up is great for smaller shows with a small stage and large standing room next to the bar and kitchen of the Globe Hall. The sound that evening in particular was absolutely great, and the venue proved to be a great place for acoustics for AJ and the band.

AJ Lee is a superb mandolin player, but her young band behind her also has some incredible musicians that were all highlights of the evening sets in their own ways, especially the standup bass player and violin player.

AJ Lee & Blue Summit performed a solid two hour set after forty-five-minute opening set from the group Foggy Mountain Space Ship, who performed mostly instrumental songs with some covers in their set. AJ's set consisted of many songs from the group's most recent album, "City of Glass". However, there were a few surprises thrown in especially by the group performing a superb version of "Red Dirt Girl" by Emmylou Harris which was one of the better moments of the entire evening.

AJ herself did perform barefoot the entire evening of the show which was surprisingly a nice touch that shows how 'down to Earth' she can be.

Perhaps the best part of the show is when our photographer, Mark, requested a song for the night and when AJ declared they had a request that night, Mark confirmed it was him, and the crowd loved it. The song, which AJ said was about lesbian relationship which humored the crowd a bit because of Mark's suggestion.

Another nice touch to the evening was when the group performed a few songs towards the ending of their set in the middle of the crowd, without any assistance from microphones or any other stage equipment. It was a great acoustic moment with AJ and her band.

AJ Lee is one of those artists who if you have chance to see the young and extremely talented bluegrass musician, you can't miss it. She is an incredibly warm and loving individual. She'll be playing next in Colorado at this year's WinterWonderGrass festival, which she'll be playing her usual set with Winter Wonder Woman with Lindsay Lou and a few other extremely talented ladies.
