Above: Pixie and Amanda Grapes play with Kyle Tuttle during last year's Rhythms on the Rio Festival.
Although we haven't been to this festival yet, we've heard great things about Tico Time Bluegrass Festival. This festival is nearly two weekends away near beautiful Durango, CO, so we'd thought we'd break down the line up and who to highlight you can't miss to see if your going to this year's festival. You can check out the daily line up for the festival here:

1) Pixie & The Partygrass Boys
Over the past two years, Wildfire Reviews have gotten to know the musicians behind the Utah based Skiing and Party group known as Pixie & Partygrass Boys. The last time we saw them was at the iconic small venue and bar named the Alibi in Telluride, CO when they performed an impressive two night stand back in last December. That review can be seen here:

Both Pixie herself, and Amanda Grapes, are the highlight of the group. They are incredible performers and exceed expectations every time they play. The group has started a following here in Colorado, and with new music coming out and the on the horizon, now is the perfect time to see them. What could be even more better? Similar to their epic performance in Telluride, Pixie and the Partygrass Boys are playing TWICE at Tico Time Bluegrass Festival: a late night gig on the Pavilion Stage Saturday the 16th, and again on the main stage Sunday the 17th. If that didn't sound like a busy schedule to you, Amanda Grapes is an artist at large for the entire festival!
2) Old Crow Medicine Show
Wildfire Review have reviewed the iconic Old Crow Medicine Show four times now, and this is the fifth time we'll be seeing them. Although their musician line up has changed over the years, the current group follows lead singer and founding member Ketch Secor. The band is best known for their iconic song 'Wagon Wheel' that originally came from an old Bob Dylan tune that was never released. Both Secor and Bob Dylan finished writing the song that quickly became one of Old Crow Medicine's Show's first and biggest hits. Like Pixie & The Partygrass Boys, Old Crow Medicine Show is one of the finest and fun groups you can see live in the music industry today. Here's the last time we've reviewed them at the much smaller venue in Beaver, Creek CO a few years ago:

3) Yonder Mountain String Band
Similar to both Old Crow Medicine Show and Pixie & The Partygrass Boys, Wildfire Reviews have seen and reviewed Yonder Mountain several times before, so it's safe to say we know this line up by heart. Yonder is a classic example of a modern day bluegrass band done right. We've seen them everywhere from small venues on top of a gondola, to a barn in Gunnison, and large festivals. Each time, the band brings a stellar performance. Last time we saw them, the group performed an impressive four set during an after party of the 2023 WinterWonderGrass festival. What could they possibly bring this year to Tico Time? Here's our last review of Yonder:

4) Big Richard
Colorado based all girl group band Big Richard have been rising in popularity over the past few years, and now they've released their second album to date. We witnessed and reviewed them for the first time this year when they performed their annual gig in Frisco at the 10 mile Music Hall. The group is filled with energy, and the girls are incredible at harmonizing. Don't miss their performance Saturday during the day at the main stage, followed by our favorites Pixie & The Partygrass Boys and Old Crow Medicine Show.

5) Magoo
Like Big Richard, Colorado based group Magoo have been also rising in popularity. This is partly because the group non stop tours every year, and plays just about every bluegrass festival in the state, and on the West Coast. Last year alone, we've reviewed Magoo at least three times because they are at every festival we go to. Now, the band finally has released their first debut album, so now is a great time to witness the group live when they perform on Sunday, May 17th at Tico Time Festival.
