This weekend, Watchhouse performed at Dillon Amp for the first time. The intimate concert sounded great, and it proved to be an excellent night with a near full moon and additional rainbow over the amp to see some live music.

At one point during the show, the folk group requested the audience to for a few requests which lead to dozens of shout outs from the crowd. A bit overwhelmed, Watchhouse continued anyways. The North Carolina group proved they were no stranger to bluegrass music, and the six piece band included multi instruments that did not stray too far from Appalachian music where their from. Husband and wife team Andrew Martin and Emily Frantz proved they were the leading members of Watchhouse with dazzling solos throughout the night.

However, the saxophonist was extremely good as well and hit every note throughout the set. Each time he performed a solo, the crowd cheered.

The band performed for a solid hour and 30 minute set, which is about average for headliner shows at Dillon Amp. The group is a folk group after all, and that amount of time proved perfect. Two Runner performed with the group for a song during the encore. The setlist included hit songs like Wildfire towards the ending of the night and crowd favorite Daylight.

Two Runner proved to be perfect openers for Watchhouse, and the two bands seemed to get along extremely well. This was one of the final shows for the two folk groups, with a sold out show in Denver the following night. Each band was very intimate, and even though Two Runner performs a bit slower live, multi instrumentalist and lead singer Paige Anderson is always a charmer to see, bringing Northern California with them to every show.

The Dillon Amp is our favorite venue in all of Colorado and for good reason. The sound always sounds excellent there, and this weekend was no exception. "We've been wanting to play the Dillon Amp for a long time," lead singer Emily Frants explained in the beginning of their set, "And trust me, it doesn't disappoint." While it wasn't sold out, the 2,000 seat Amp was packed, with many of the concert goers also excited to see Sierra Ferrell performing at the Amp in a few weeks.

 Wildfire Reviews had the chance of speaking with a group of concert goers who came all the way up from Austin, Texas specifically for this show. "Watchhouse never performs in Texas," explained 24 year old Conner in the front row, "So I purchased my early access ticket first chance I had and invited my sister, father and mother to come along too." It was indeed a special moment for the group to witness the group at such a beautiful venue in Colorado.
