Grand Point North to rock Burlington this weekend

The crowd for the Grand Point North Festival
Grand Point North, Grace Potter's annual music festival, is set to return to Waterfront Park in Burlington, VT this upcoming weekend. The annual festival reprises Potter's faith in her hometown as she brings some talented artists both new and old to the party.
Running for five years now, Grand Point North is Vermont's prime music festival and a key point in the relationship between Burlington and Grace Potter. Burlington is of course Potter's hometown, so it was a no brainer when she launched the festival back in 2011. Since then, although the festival hasn't become the next Lollapalooza or Bonnaroo, it has seen some major talent come through Burlington. These would include such artists as The Avett Brothers, Old Crow Medicine Show, and The Flaming Lips.

This year is no different as Potter has recruited both new, old and fellow local Vermont musicians to the stage. The festival is highlighted by everyone's favorite Virginia American band Old Crow Medicine Show. The band has some interesting roots in Upstate New York, not too far away from Vermont. They released their biggest hit song in 2004 'Wagon Wheel' that was originally created and written by Bob Dylan. Old Crow Medicine Show have toured the world and the country many times. They often play the four big music festivals of the U.S; Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, Coachella and Sasquatch.

Another highlight of this year's festival is Vermont and Burlington native Kat Wright and the Indomitable Soul Band. The group puts on a lively show filled with jazz, R&B and rock and roll. More jazzy & R&B then similar sounding bands like Sister Sparrow & The Dirty Birds, Kat Wright puts an interesting spin on a frequently visited genre. More importantly, Kat Wright and the Indomitable Soul Band are a new upcoming group that are emerging onto the national music scene. Seeing them at their own hometown for Grand Point North will be a great, enjoyable experience.

As always, Grace Potter herself always put's on an incredible performance no matter where she performs. Although her set list hasn't changed much over the past few years, Potter puts great effort into every performance. With each concert, she hand picks a collection of great covers from artists that have influenced her to become the star she is today, and those covers are by far some of the most impressive highlights of her shows.

Last year, Kenny Chesney joined Potter onstage for a surprise moment. Who know's what this year might expect?
Come join Grace Potter and friends at this years Grand Point North Festival, located at the beautiful Waterfront Park on Lake Champlain.
