War for Planet of the Apes is a fine ending, A+

It goes without the saying that the POTA trilogy are some of the best science fiction films of the modern decade. War for Planet of the Apes maybe the best one yet, and is a superb conclusion to a trilogy of films that surpassed expectations in every way.

Relative newcomer director Matt Reeves (Let Me In, Cloverfield) truly out did himself with his latest work of achievement, War For Planet of the Apes. The third film is even better then the last two, which is rare to see in any trilogy. It's not just the best film of the trilogy, but the best science fiction film this year has to offer. It's a find ending to a trilogy that inspired new POTA fans that will applaud it's greatness in every way.

There's not just one thing good about the new film. There's so many great things about it it's hard to really pin point what's the best. That being said, it's just a superbly done science fiction film over all. It's ends the trilogy in a way people will be talking about for many years to come.
The ape Caesar is done exceptionally well, and the details to his character, both CGI and development wise is better than ever. However, Planet of the Apes isn't just about Caesar, and in this film, it's great to see the other apes having bigger parts.

It's great to see Woody Harrelson in a sci fi villain role that he pulls extremely well.
One of the better things about War is how much it pays attention to detail. The story line is incredibly detailed, which is rare to see in most films these days. It's not just another sequel to a film, despite many connections to Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. It's it's own film in it's own rights because the issues it discusses are much deeper than anything we've seen in a summer block buster in a while, including slavery and constant hints towards Shakespeare and even the Bible.
It's safe to say that War is a near masterpiece science fiction film that gives its viewers everything they'd want and even more.
The special effects are amazing, proving you can have a film with both a great narrative and powerful effects. Although they might not be as much as you'd think, the special effects that are there are the ones that matter and make the count.

War for Planet of the Apes is a for sure reason to catch up the first two of the trilogy, because, although it's it's own stand alone movie, you do need to watch at least the first movie to understand the basics of what's going, something that director Matt Reeves does extremely well.
A+
