Shazam is hysterically funny and a great dc movie, A

Shazam is hysterically funny, surprisingly heartfelt and filled with super heroes, villains and a great story filled with action and surprises-everything a new super hero film can ask for.

Filled with everything a new super hero film should have, Shazam is a huge success for DC. It's a perfect stand a lone film, but it's clear that Shazam still falls in with DC's extended universe with multiple superman and batman references. Aside from that, the story, cinematography, special affects, but above all, Zacky Levi are all great in DC's latest super hero sega.

While everything else is great, the true success of Shazam lies behind an ambitious Zackary Levi as the title character. He's brilliant in the role, and there can be no other Shazam than him. You can watch he's having an absolute blast with it, and his dedication tot he film, the other acts and the story is incredible. You could tell Levi must have watched Tom Hank's Big several times to study on, because the roles are easily similar. His expressions and how he acts would be a how a young fifteen year old kid with a big alter ego might act trying to be a super hero for the first time, and it's a delight to see on the big screen.

Speaking of Big, Shazam is eerily similar itself. It's basically a super hero version of that film, and instead of office jerks and girlfriends, it's filled with super heroes and villains. There's even a few references to Big in the film that make it extremely heartfelt and lovable. It's a modern day super hero saga that the whole family can enjoy, and is more like Dead pool than any of the other new super hero flicks out there today.

Shazam has what many of the other DC films don't, and that's humor. It almost acts and feels like it belongs to a completely other rival comic book franchise, but the constant reminders of Super Man will let yo know it's still DC. What makes Shazam work so well is that it is a stand a lone film and not part of the Justice League or any big picture, and this might be something that DC should work on instead of going a long the path of the Avengers.

The only issue that Shazam has is that it should actually have more of Zackery Levi as Shazam. He truly steals the show hear, so why not truly focus on him and let him shine as much as he can?
Mark Strong is always great in whatever he does, and he's a perfect villain for the film. He's actually pretty well acted throughout the film, and a great counter part to Levi. It's also good to have DC truly focus on a villain's side of the story and not just the super hero, something they did extremely well in Nolan's Batman series and unfortunately haven't really touched on since then.

Shazam is great, and something the entire family can enjoy, despite having some brutal action sequences and lots of curse words. It's an epic adventure that is equally good, if not better, than Wonder Woman.
