What we do in the Shadows is just as funny as movie, A+

In what maybe one of the best new shows of 2019, FX's What We Do In the Shadows is just as great if not greater than the original film, expanding on it's universe and is hilariously funny.

Television shows based off movies are a hot trend these days, but far too often, these shows prove they are no where as great as the films that they are based on. Finally, we have What We Do In The Shadows which is surprisingly just the opposite. It's not only insanely hilarious, but it's thought provoking, interesting and fascinating in perhaps even more ways than the original film was. It's a key example of what shows based on movies should do. It has excellent writing, directing, storylines, special effects and acting-making it one of the best new shows of 2019.

What We Do In The Shadows is so absurd that it's laugh out loud funny, just like the movie was. Unfortunately, it's an entire new cast, but these actors are all great and feel like they are perfect for their vampire rolls just like the Flight of the Concords originally were. Each one of the cast is great, and by the end of the first episode, you are rooting for all the characters despite them being new to the vamp scene.

While theirs an entirely new cast, the show's unique cinematography and film making doesn't change from how the original movie was. There's still a camera crew filming the vampires, and it's all still being recorded which is why it fits nicely in the film's universe. The insanely dark scenes low light back drop make for a perfect vampire show.

What makes What We Do in the Shadows so different than other shows based on films is how thought provoking and clever each episode is. It's a show you can tell the creators really put their time-and teeth into. It's done professionally and with absolute love for the show. Fans of the film will be absolutely delighted and wanting more, despite their being all new actors.

What We Do in the Shadow works because it's different, it's fun, has an excellent cast and pays respect to the original film that it's based on. It's one one, if not the best new show of 2019 and hopefully will be around for a few seasons to come.
