Jenny Lewis does a stellar job with On the Line, A+

Jenny Lewis is back with On the Line. It's an impressive album filled with everything we love from one of the best indie rock stars around.

These days, many artists are changing their music styles so much it's hard to keep track of everybody and what they actually sound like. So it's a nice and pleasant to listen to an album that's coming from a musician who stays true to who she is, but at the same time, has recorded some incredible new music that will make you singing and dancing to almost every song on the record. On the Line is 2019's best album yet. Everyone's favorite hippie Grateful Dead inspired indie girl is back, and she is better than ever.

Ever since Lewis left her group, she's released three albums. On the Line is her fourth studio album as a solo artist, and it has everything a new record should have. One of the best things about the album is that it's absolutely loaded with special guests appearances from everyone from Ryan Adams to Ringo Starr. It seems like Lewis is a favorite to both indie kids and old rockers a like, which is a great thing. However, the guest appearances aren't the only thing that's great about this record.

If you like song writing, then this is the album for you. This is one of Lewis's best albums she's ever done, and her song wringing has increased dramatically. Every song is fascinating to listen to, not just because of the music behind it, but because of Lewis herself. Lewis has moved on from writing just loves song to powerful and emotional ballads filled with metaphors and deep meaning. She's the star of the album, and by all means, she rocks every part of it.

The song writing on the album is helped by Lewis's vocals. She sounds crystal clear on every track, and she hasn't been this confident as an artist on a record since the days when she was touring with her band. Her voice is strong, and her song writing is even stronger. And although Jenny Lewis's vocals are dominant throughout the record, it's great because it doesn't drown out the sounds of her band either. It's a perfect mixture of vocals and music that keeps the trend of Lewis's signature sounds with every song.
On the Line is filled with glitter and glam and danceable indie pop tunes, but it also contains a side of Lewis that we haven't seen before. Fans will be extremely delighted, and it's one of those albums where you can listen to over and over again and not get bored by the second. It's a great addition to to Lewis's catalogue.
A+
