To many, Frank Herbert's, Dune is considered to be one of if not the best science fiction novel of all time. It's settings, characters & storyline opens up a new, foreign yet beautiful world. It's only natural that Hollywood has tried to attempt to convert this masterpiece onto the big screen. Even David Lynch's 1984 attempted failed to connect the novel onto the big screen, proving the task to be difficult at the very least.
So in the 2000's Sci-Fi channel decided to attempt to create a mini series so that all the characters & elements of the novel could be fully explored on the small screen. The final product is impressive to say the least as John Harrison's mini series greatly and respected all parts of the novel. The characters and landscape of the planet Dune was brought to life. Harrison's vision let you actually care for the characters on the screen, even the villain red baron. The costumes are an early reminded of what may have influenced the Hunger Games. In short, the sci fi mini series dune is a great success and should be watched by all fans of the novel.
