Pixie and the Partygrass Boys are still the best and most fun live act you can see this year and next, A+

Above: Pixie and the Partygrass Boys perform for night two at the Alibi in Telluride On December 20, 2025.

This past weekend, Utah's favorite ski & party group, Pixie & The Partygrass Boys, performed for two solid nights at the Alibi in Telluride that was one of the best shows of 2025. On the second night, the group performed for almost a four-hour set, providing a magical time for the smaller, fifty-person crowd at the Alibi.

Pixie sure knows how to bring it live during all their shows. This is our eigth time catching this band live this year, but every time is an unique experience, and Telluride at the Alibi bar was no different. The band performed for two nights, with an opening group Friday night called Silasherman and the Tone Unit. This group is lead by Leftover Salmon's Vince Herman son. Saturday night, Pixie and the boys opened up for the themselves, making it the better night of the two, but the entire weekend was amazing overall.

The Alibi is a small bar located in downtown Telluride with even a smaller stage and a dance area that perhaps could hold one hundred people. Around 50-80 people showed up both nights for Pixie. It was a great intimate setting to see our favorite group we discovered this year. The sound throughout all their sets sounded incredible, but it was night two that the group truly shined.

If you're really a true fan of your favorite band, the best way to see them is on a multi night event where they truly perform all the songs in their catalog, and Pixie and the Partygrass Boys were no exception. "I really hope they perform Home," said one fan who came up from Durango to see them play Saturday night only. Of course, the group performed that one, and only did a few repeat songs from the night before.

"This is just a warm up, we'll be back tomorrow!" Pixie explained as night one came to a close. It was an interesting crowd for both nights, with around half the folks in attendance returning for night two, including some die hard fans like Izzie who drove 20 hours all the way from Idaho to see them. Izzie enjoys singing 'Where I came from" every chance she can with Pixie on stage like she did at the Beuna Vista show in June.

Unfortunately, these were the last shows with the groups fill in base player, Adam, who was amazing both nights and gave great performances with his stand-up instrument.

Fiddle player Amanda Grapes is always a show stealer, and one highlight of night one was when the group performed their version of 'Devil Went Down to Georgia'.

Pixie herself is an incredible singer and guitar player who knows how to work the crowd every show, and her passion and love for her fans and her music is what makes her an amazing artist to know and see live. Although Pixie refrained from crying these two shows, she is always very emotional and wore two beautiful outfits each night.

What made night two the best was their opening set when they performed mostly covers that the crowd loved and danced to. They were dancing as hard as the band was straight for four hours, and that's the biggest reason why Pixie & the Partygrass Boys are the most fun act you can see: the crowd really gets into it at every one of their shows, especially at smaller venue settings.

Pixie And The Partygrass Boys have multiple Colorado dates throughout 2026 and often perform free festivals throughout the summer. They are a band not to be missed.

A+
