Cascade Mountain Worth the Hike

A 46er Pager

Cascade Mountain Review

Located outside of Lake Placid, Cascade Mountain is a peak within the Adirondacks. It's Part of the Adirondack 46ers, 46 mountains all above 4,000 feet located within the park. It's also within the High Peaks area, which is a region within the massive Adirondack Park.
The Cascade Mountain trail begins at route 73 and travels up several rock filled inclines before passing over more solid rock and boulders and leveling up at the top.
At the top, hikers are then pressed on to continue to Cascade's dome. On top of the dome is a perfect 360 degree view of the surrounding area. On a clear day, hikers can even see Vermont off of Lake Champlain in the distance.
Cascade is a beginner's into to the Adirondack 46ers and should be climbed first before any of the other 45 peaks as its the most easiest climb. This doesn't mean it's necessarily easy for everyone, and despite the title of an 'easy' climb, Cascade can still put anyone through a good workout.
Cascade Mountain is 4,098 feet tall and worth the climb because of the simply amazing view on the top that really lets you see the rest of the High Peaks in detail. A guide is almost always there on the top as well for your help during the day.
