Who: Jack the Giant Slayer
Last year came the now almost entirely forgotten new Jack the Giant Slayer movie from X Men director Bryan Singer, taking his spin on the fantasy world. The movie is a modern recent telling of the classic tale Jack and the Beanstalk, complete with a number of Hollywood's recent stars like Ewan McGregor and Eleanor Tomlinson. Even though the movie is pleasantly acted, unfortunately all it is is just plain fun, which may be what it was meant to be. On the downsides, it doesn't offer anything new or interesting to the Jack and the Bean stalk story despite trying as it may. The film relies too much on heavy CGI effects that block the character development and storyline.
