Best horror films 2010-2020

We at Wildfire Reviews absolutely love horror. It's our honor to present to you the best horror flicks of this decade!

1) A Quiet Place
 (95% Rotten Tomatoes)
Despite it's unusual short length,  A Quiet Place is one of those rare gems that works on on multiple levels. The story, characters and even the monsters are all absolutely fantastic-making A Quiet Place not only the best horror of the decade but one of all time. Oh yeah, it's actually scary too!

2) Get Out
(98% Rotten Tomatoes)
Although it's not true horror, it's hard to put Get Out in any other genre. Get Out is everything that it was hyped out to be, funny, scary and above all else, thought provoking. Filled with great atmosphere, a chilling story and incredible work by new comer Jordon Peele, Get Out is one of those flicks that's not just the best of it's genre, but one of the best films of the decade.

3) The Babadook
(98% Rotten Tomatoes)
Hold your pants because this is another great scare. Beautifully directed and wonderfully acted, The Babadook is an incredible horror flick that truly shows the talent of first time director Jennifer Kent. The way the babadook is presented is downright both fascinating and terrifying at once.

4) What We Do In The Shadows
(96% Rotten Tomatoes)
Equal parts both funny and scary, What We Do in the Shadows is a vampire flick that actually works. Filled with great acting, visuals and cinematography, What We Do In the Shadows is no doubt one of the best horror flicks of the decade. The guys of the Flight of the Concords have made a vampire flick that will always be remembered.

5) Cabin in the Woods
(91% Rotten Tomatoes)
Another horror comedy, Cabin in the Woods maybe completely different than What We Do In the Shadows but at the same time is a fascinating original horror flick that's highly entertaining.  It's just as funny as scary, and that's what makes Cabin in the Woods so damn good. The characters, plot, and respect for horror in the film make it truly exceptional.

6) It Follows
(96% Rotten Tomatoes)
Speaking of original, we can't ignore new comer director David Mitchell's It Follows. The film is one of the scariest horror flicks of all time, and is one of the most original horror stories that we've seen in recent years. It works in multiple levels-everything from how the film is filmed to it's chilling music and general atmosphere, It Follows is a modern day horror master piece.

7) The Conjuring
(85% Rotten Tomatoes)
Another film that when you watch it for the first time, is down right scary. The Conjuring is creepy from the very first scene to the last, and James Wan beautifully creates a horror saga that will go down in history as one of the scariest films of all time. Because it's based on a true story, the Conjuring remains a haunting icon for future ghost stories of the genre of how you can make a common genre original again.

8) Us
(93% Rotten Tomatoes)
It might not be as great as Get Out was, but Jordon Peele's second follow up is just as original and creative as his first. It's also more scary, and more in line with the actual horror genre. Great acting and a surprising story line makes Us worth watching. If anything, the newcomer director has found away to beat the sophomore slump.

9) Mandy
(91% Rotten Tomatoes)
2018's Mandy was a complete B-Rated horror flick in every way, and that's how it works. Nicolas Cage givers the performance of a life time. Although it might be hard not to watch this movie stoned or high, Mandy's unusual vision and uniqueness sets it apart from modern day slasher revenge films. It's beautifully shot and directed, and Nic Cage's violent outburts is what makes the film.

10) Let the Right One In (Us Version): Let Me In (88% Rotten Tomatoes)
Although it came out in the beginning of the decade, Let the Right One still fits in with 2010 to 2020's movie lists. The Us version of Let the Right One In works in it's own ways, including incredible performances by it's lead child actors. The film isn't as great as the Swedish original, but it's still down right scary and the story is entertaining to say the least. It's still a great vampire flick that proves for once, remakes can still be good.
