The Low Dog Days of Summer @ The Drive in/The Wolverine

WHAT: MOVIE REVIEWS
THE CONJURING/ THE WOLVERINE

This weekend at the Midway drive in located in between Fulton & Oswego, NY featured a triple play of action and horror movies.
The line up @ the drive in included these summer blockbuster hits:

World War Z
Wolverine
and
The Conjuring

Intro
The still surviving but dying Drive-In business is still a super fun and different way of seeing a summer film other than just going to your average theatre. You do however, if wanting to see all 3 films in a triple decker marathon night (most of the times its just 2), need to be able to stay up until at least 2A.M. That being said, most of the movies at this weekend's drive in (August 23, 2013), proved to be worth it even though all of them are indeed a bit far fetched. But, what are movies for if not being far fetched? It's how good the acting is, the storyline, directing, scenes and in some cases special effects can be that matters.

The Wolverine

A few weeks ago saw the national movie release of Marvel’s The Wolverine which centers around our favorite mutant as he travels to Japan to visit an old friend. The ending fight scenes of The Wolverine strays into the 'I've seen it before/know that was going to happen' territory, but despite this, it's actual a pretty decent movie and has a rather interesting plot line revolving around Wolverine's history and present day actions in Japan.
The movie over all is highly entertaining, and X-Men fans should be pleased with the outcome. There are even some memorable action and fight scenes throughout the movie, like when Wolverine is battling a few Japanese mobsters on a bullet train. But the tagline is this: that Hugh Jackman has survived being the character for more than ten years, and he knows it well. That angry looking face he does and bad ass figure, as well as sometimes being a bit soft, is what we know and love about him as The Wolverine and he continues this to perfection in this film.
The X-Men haven't died yet, however, one might be a bit skeptical on Marvel's feature plans for the franchise that involves Time Travel and mixed mingles with The Fantastic 4 to be a bit on edge....
