Don't bully a person with telekinesis. Carrie remake falls flat

What: Movie Review
Who: The new Carrie remake
When: February 2014

Carrie maybe picked on and bullied in her movies, but Hollywood seems to love her enough to have this story be remade twice now from the original classic 1978 film. By now, everyone should know Carrie's story-the kids at her high school constantly pick on her. However, the saying what goes around comes around maybe over stretched in this case.
The new Carrie remake, coming off of a recent horror remake trend these past couple of years in Hollywood land, boasts an excellent cast including Julianne Moore as Carrie's obsessed mother. However, despite the cast and and up and coming teen sensation Chloe Grace Maretz, the movie unfortunately is a dead bulb with no real thrill or scare like the first film.
It offers nothing new, and remakes are suppose to be as good if not better than the original, that's why they are remade. Everything in this movie is sub par, unfortunately even Julianne Moore. The script is almost the same as the old Carrie movie except with different actors and an updated look to it.
In reality, nothing can beat the 1978 film, which goes down as one of the greatest horror movies ever made, and certainly the best prom scene ever done in a movie.

Carrie Remake score:
C- or D+
