Why: Sequel to the first hit
The beloved characters from Dreamwork's How To Train Your Dragon are back this weekend with a sequel. The second film takes place a few years after the events of the first movie, and as a result, this animated feature is surprisingly darker than the average cartoon and filled with moments all grown ups can relate to.
HTYD2 is just as good as the first movie, if not better, and that's saying a lot. It's a wonderful display of animal-human relations. As much as it is about the dragons, the film also centers around great human connections involving friendships and parenting as well. Everything about the movie is beautifully done, just like the original. One thing that's great about the film is that each character gets some screen time here and its wonderful to see those beloved vikings come back to life.
