Hypnotic Eye is catchy and enjoyable

What: Album Review
Who: Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers
When: August 1, 2014
Why: The new album Hypnotic Eye by one of America's classic all time rock bands

Tom Petty & The Hearbreakers are a favorite of many American rock fans and musicians in today's world. Now, they've released a brand new album, their first since 2010's Mojo. While the album is nothing new regarding Petty's unique and brilliant sound, it is a bit more lively and energetic than his last effort.
In today's world of cross genre and ever changing music scene, Petty is one artist who isn't afraid of keeping things the way they always were, true to rock and roll which can never be a bad thing. While the album is short, its tunes make it to be meant that way and easy to listen to, however that could be a good and bad thing.
Petty's voice is as powerful as ever, and he even brings some harder edged tunes into the picture like American Dream Plan B and Power Drunk. While it's not an incredible album, you can tell Tom Petty & his band are at ease at this album, enjoying themselves and the music they produce. There's some up and downs to it, but overall its worth a listen to and much better than 2010's Mojo.
