What to watch on demand: Anchorman 2, B+

What: movie review
Who: Anchorman 2
When: December 2014
Why: The sequel to the smash hit film, Anchorman

A surprising addition to your instant streaming device this month is Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues. The film leaves off several years after the first film, with Ron Burgundy and his wife, Veronica Corningstone, now living in New York. When faced to give up him or a recent career advancement, Ron leaves NY back home to San Diego, where he eventually meets up with his old news crews to join GNN.
Anchorman 2 isn't as great as the first movie, and it's far less quotable, but nonetheless the sequel still has some spirit helped by its awesome and impressive cast. The film is pretty uneven, and at many points in it you can't help but think to yourself 'what am I watching?' but overall it isn't a dud. It's funny, and it's what you'd expect from the characters you love from the first film. Steve Carell is excellent and funny as ever as Brick Tamland, who outshines the rest.
Anchorman 2 will have you laughing despite the it being just as dumb if not dumber than the original movie, but hey what the heck, what more can you expect from Ron Burgundy?

Grade: B+
