Last night, it was the coldest night of the year with temperatures plummeting well below 0 with constant snow. However, that didn't stop Turkuaz from drawing a surprisingly good sized crowd to the Westcott Theater in Syracuse, NY.
You had to be hip and a Bonnaroo type hippie goodness in order to attend, but Turkuaz blasted Syracuse away with their endless energy and great musical talent.
Opening band Thunderbody also performed from Rochester, NY. However, Turkuaz blew them away with a performance that proved they are a not only a jam band but a still rising talent from Brooklyn. Turkuaz played for a good hour and 45 minutes, with great musical talent from the horn section and everyone involved in the band. Guitarist Dave Brandwein was exceptionally good last night.
The crowd at least half filled the Westcott, bringing out the lovebirds from the unbelievable cold of Syracuse, NY. While there were no older people there, it was fun to see the young crowd dancing and jumping up and down to their favorite band.
Turkuaz is well worth seeing in concert for any music fan, even if one doesn't know every lyric to their songs.
